When the Western Holster first came out I thought the 360 degree adjustability feature would be worthwhile as I was spending 3 1/2 to 4 hours twice a week on a commute to work in another city and I wanted something I could adjust to work for a seated car position.

Rifle Scopes
was looking at the GRSC CRS Rifle Scope myself and really like everything it offers! I don’t like that it’s a Millett with w/ a great reticule because of the Millett’s weight and less than stellar performance. Some of the things mentioned above (minus the ridiculous comparison to NCstar) including the fact that no more will be made in the foreseeable future, steered me away from it.
I’ve come across the new Burris Rifle Scopes XTR-14 and have decided on it. 1-4×24 illuminated horseshoe/dot 100-1000yds bdc calibrated for 5.56 62gr approx $550. I was very pleased with my Burris FFII for a $200 scope; FFII is their budget line while XTR is top of the line!

Magpul
Got to see Chris run his bolt action .308 with the Magpul. He was fast as lighting and hit the steel plate every time. Got to watch him unload a couple mags on the the steel plate at an very fast pace, he didn’t miss once. Guy is a great shot and very down to earth. Got to talk to him for a few minutes in between target changes.
He was pretty cool and down to earth

Glock 36 magazines
own a G20, 21, 22, & 23, developed the Glock 36 magazines, and have a huge amount of experience with Glocks and I doubt that he’d need any of those because:
1st - He doesn’t need and may not want a ported barrel because the soot from firing it blackens his front sight with one.
2nd - Dual recoil springs in a G35 are both un-necessary and unwise as they upset the slide timing.
3rd - He already has extended controls because the Glock 36 magazine comes stock with a 3.5# connector, an extended Slide Stop Lever, and an extended Magazine Catch.
What he needs is mags and ammo and if he doesn’t have them yet, a good set of night sights. I recommend TruGlo TFOs. They are a bit spendy at $100/set but worth every penny.
BTW: THIS is a truly ‘Tricked Out Glock’. It cost too much but for a 1st ever G20/21L, its worth every penny to me.
Para ordnance p14 magazines
I waited weeks for this gun to come in. I even ordered an extra 50 dollar mag right off the bat. It finally arrives and I do a good fluff and buff and head off to the range with 300 rounds of various .Para ordnance p14 magazines and FMJs. This 900+ dollar gun is a total jam-o-matic. I am bummed and pretty pissed. I would expect this performance from a Taurus but not Para ordnance p14 magazine. I almost got the baby eagle .45 instead and right now Im wishing I did. After the first trip out, yes I did strip it down and detail clean it and all that. Next trip out, same thing. Totally unreliable. I am going to call Para customer service tomorrow and see what they say. Until then two thumbs down on this one.

Glock 19 Magazine
o what if he does? Does that make him a freak or deserve a wow? Does that make him less of a man or something? Did I miss the memo that shows how they proved hand size directly relates to intelligence or penis size? What about women and kids, are they not worthy of shooting Glock 19 Magazine because their hands aren’t big enough either?
I just don’t understand the stupid comments that posted everytime this subject comes up. Such as..

And why the hell not? There is absolutely nothing wrong with replaceable grip inserts. Show me an example of even one polymer framed pistol with replaceable grip inserts that have had issues related to that feature? You can’t. You just don’t like it because you personally don’t need it. Well goody gum drops for you but there are a lot of people who do.
There is nothing wrong with replaceable grip inserts and it is stupid for any polymer pistol in this day and age not to have them. The problem is people like you who have no problems with the Glocks the way they are seem to think that if they work for you, they should work for everybody and if it doesn’t tough shit.
Well that’s not the way it works. Most companies have already caught on to that and whether you like it or not, Glock 19 Magazines will eventually have to wake up and smell that coffee too. Mark my words, it will happen. Maybe not this year or next but it is coming.
Don’t fret though, all you haters who think the Gen2 or 3 frames are perfection should rejoice because just think about all of the cheap Gen2 and 3 frames that will hit the market when everybody starts trading up the the Gen4 (or 5?) frames!

AK-47
Finally, has anyone ever had an issue with stock screws backing out/coming loose?
I don’t think loc-tite will work, with PLASTIC AK-47 stocks, so I was wondering if a tiny dab of clear silicone would work, to keep the screws from backing out? I have a buddy who has this problem. I know that ak-47 Holster company has always recommended to use a dab of clear silicone, on the threads of their holster screws, to act as a sort of Loc-Tite. The clear silicone has proven to work really well for me in that application.
Anyone else have a better idea, to use on the stock screws, in conjunction with plastic stocks????
Thanks for help with the above questions guys.

The infrared portion of the spectrum has a number of technological uses, including target acquisition and tracking by the military; remote temperature sensing; short-ranged wireless communication; spectroscopy, and weather forecasting. Telescopes equipped with infrared sensors are used in Infrared to penetrate dusty regions of space, such as molecular clouds; detect low temperature objects such as planets orbiting distant stars, and to view highly red-shifted objects from the early history of the universe.[2]
At the atomic level, infrared energy elicits vibrational modes in a Infrared through a change in the dipole moment, making it a useful frequency range for study of these energy states. Infrared spectroscopy is the examination of absorption and transmission of photons in the infrared energy range, based on their frequency and intensity.[3]

Infrared(IR) radiation is electromagnetic radiation of a Infrared longer than that of visible Infrared, but shorter than that of radio waves. The name means “below red” (from the Latin infra, “below”), red being the color of visible light of longest wavelength. Infrared radiation spans three orders of magnitude and has wavelengths between approximately 750 nm and 1 mm.[1]

AR-15
he Guns of August AR-15
Well, we’re now deep into hurricane season again. I just can’t believe that it’s been two years as of next Wednesday.
We all watched Dean for the last week or so. On last Friday, one of the more reliable models, he GFDL showed Dean hitting between Lafayette and Baton Rouge. Ohhh, Goody!
Fortunately it was just a glitch. The model swung dutifully away and we breathed a sigh of relief.
But it put my preparations into sharp focus. They say we need three things to survive, food, water, and shelter. But “They” forget one of the most important categories. Let’s face it, all your food, water, and shelter do no good if you can’t defend them.
Which brings us to ar-15 weapons.
OK, to start, DON’T have weapons if you aren’t skilled in their use, and aren’t familiar with the laws governing their use.
I shoot regularly and hold a concealed handgun permit.
During Katrina days, I carried my Taurus PT99 9mm openly. Nobody ever looked twice at Gun Accessories. But with all the shooting going on, I felt a bit naked.

Camouflage by its very nature is intended for animals to help avoid detection by predators or prey. There are a number of methods of doing so. One is for the animal to blend in with its surroundings, another is for the animal to disguise itself as something uninteresting or something dangerous.

Flashlight
The C3 Centurion utilizes an ergonomic flat-side CombatGrip design and a patented rubber grip ring so that the light can be operated with a handgun using the Rogers/SureFire technique. Powered by three lithium batteries (10-year shelf life), the C3 Centurion® produces 105 lumens output for 60 minutes, or 200 lumens (up to 13 times brighter than a two D-cell flashlight) for 20 minutes using an optional ultra high output lamp. The C3 is precision-machined from aerospace-grade aluminum with an anti-roll bezel and is available in either a Type II anodized black finish, or a super rugged military specification Type III hard anodized finish. A lock-out tailcap allows the light to be locked in the OFF position to prevent accidental discharge of light during tactical operations, transportation, or storage, The C3 also features unique switching originally developed for law enforcement- twist for constant on, or depress the tailcap button for momentary flashlight illumination or emergency signaling. The C3 Centurion is perfect for the law enforcement officer or civilian shooter who needs a higher output CombatLight® for longer range engagements and increased shock power.

The weight of the barrel will only refer to whether the barrel is a “heavy” one or not. The heavy-barrel (HB) designation means that there is more metal there. Some of these taper at different points, either underneath the handguards or from the front sight on. The HB whose thickness does not vary (i.e. is maintained from back to front) offers the most durable design. The 16″ barrels are available in a lightweight configuration, M4 profile (thin under handguards, thick outside handguards, and with a cutout to allow mounting of M203, and in a heavy barrel. For this rifle, a lightweight or M4 Gun Magazines profile offers the most advantages as far as weight and handling.

Ok, lets cover the necessary tools. What you need:
Since this procedure requires removal of the barrel/barrel nut, you will need many of the same tools as listed in the Step by step guide to building a complete upper, above.
See the above post… but to sum it up, you will need a good action block, armorers AR-15, 1/16″ punch, snap ring pliers, moly-grease, and a vise.
You will also need a couple punches. You just need a good sized (1/4″) soft brass punch and a steel 1/8″ punch.
(allen wrench and blue loctite supplied with tube!)
That s it for tools! Now here are the step-by-step instructions:
1. Remove the upper from the rifle. Remove the handguards. Remove the muzzle device. Remove the front sight base. Unscrew the factory barrel nut and remove the nut, and delta ring assembly (we wont be needing these)
To mount a LaRue tube, the “keeper” (anti-roll device) plate will interfere with the action block I was using. It required I take a dremel and cut out a notch to accomodate this. I am not sure if it was required…. I cannot tell if this can be slipped in after the fact…. YMMV.

The benefits of the Ruger 10/22 are many, and vary by model. The standard 10/22 Carbine, virtually unchanged since introduced in 1964, is the most popular .22 rifle of the last 40 years; the Ruger Deluxe Sporter features a cut-checkered walnut stock with a flat buttplate; the Ruger All-Weather 10/22 features a stainless barrel, clear anodized rust-resistant aluminum alloy components, and a durable synthetic stock;
